Is OnStar® available for all fleets, even if I have non-GM or mixed-brand vehicles?

Yes. With the OnStar Fleet Adapter,* compatible non-GM vehicles can be connected to the OnStar Vehicle Insights®* platform — giving you a unified view across your entire fleet.

What payment and billing options does OnStar offer for fleets?

Can I connect OnStar with my current fleet management tools and software?

Yes. OnStar offers APIs and Data Services designed to integrate seamlessly with your existing telematics dashboards and fleet platforms. For supported partners, reach out to your OnStar Account Executive.

Can I use OnStar if I have a mixed fleet or non-GM vehicle?

Yes. Non-GM fleet vehicles can receive OnStar support if they have an OnStar Fleet Adapter* connected. Visit our Add Ons page to learn more.

What does the OnStar DualCam record, and how can I access its video?

With an OnStar DualCam subscription, DualCam captures interior and exterior views, with AI-triggered alerts for risky driving behaviors. In the case of a collision, DualCam can provide you with video evidence needed for insurance companies and law enforcement. Video clips are available for viewing and download through the OnStar Vehicle Insights platform.

Can I get help installing DualCam hardware, or do I install it myself?

Can OnStar Vehicle Insights be used by both drivers and fleet managers?

Yes. Fleet managers and account admins can use OnStar Vehicle Insights* to manage settings, assign vehicles by VIN and generate reports. Drivers access only the data for their assigned vehicle. 

What’s the difference between the OnStar Vehicle Insights app and the MyBrand mobile app?

The OnStar Vehicle Insights* app is built for fleets — tracking location, diagnostics,* reporting and driver behavior. Fleets rely on OnStar Vehicle Insights. The GM MyBrand* mobile app is designed for individual owners managing a personal vehicle.

Can I control which drivers use vehicles or see trip info in OnStar?

Yes. Admins assign drivers to vehicles or fleets. Drivers only see the vehicles they’re assigned to. 

What reporting options are available from the OnStar Vehicle Insights app?

Reporting includes trip history, vehicle diagnostics,* driver behavior insights (like speeding, hard braking and seat belt use), as well as fuel and EV charging data. 

Are there training resources available for new OnStar Vehicle Insights users?

Yes. OnStar provides onboarding and training resources for both fleet managers and drivers. Your OnStar Account Executive can help you get started.

How do I continue service at the end of my OnStar trial?

After your 3-month trial of premium services (Telematics* and Protect*) expires, you can renew via the Finance and Billing section on OnStar Vehicle Insights* or through a prepaid invoice. Telematics is automatically rolled into your monthly billing if you have it bundled with your vehicle purchase. 

Will I be auto-enrolled into OnStar One Fleet after the 3-month trial?

OnStar One Fleet* and Protect* plans are not auto-enrolled and must be renewed manually. If you bundeled Telematics* with your vehicle purchase, it will transition automatically to monthly invoicing per VIN.

Can I export vehicle and driver data for local use?

Yes. Reports and historical data can be exported from the OnStar Vehicle Insights platform for local storage or analysis. 

Which features require an active subscription?

Certain telematics, security and Wi-Fi features require an OnStar One Fleet* subscription. Visit our OnStar One Fleet page for more information. OnStar Fleet Basics — covering vehicle health, EV diagnostics and remote commands — are included without a subscription, with Automatic Crash Response* (ACR) added for model year 2026 vehicles.
